Zine / Bookbinding Workshop

Saturday 3rd October - 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Join Carl Middleton in the studio for a one-day zine / artist book making workshop. We will look at paper technology, folding and book binding methods. Practically manufacturing a number of artist books and zines. The workshop will take you through the concept and design through to exploring multiple material processes and techniques.

We will
• Learn about the essential book binding tools and materials.
• Explore how to develop and translate your idea into a zine or artist book.
• Understand how to plan a document and bind it safely and effectively.

About the Tutor
Carl has almost thirty years experience in teaching - from his time as a tutor at London College of Printing and the Royal College to his move west, establishing Studio B in Somerset.

He has successfully guided many beginners, as well as advanced artists - his own work spans the different disciplines of printmaking, design and publishing.

• This workshop is for All abilities - ages thirteen up.
• Refreshments and lunch provided.
